I am delighted to write this letter on two levels, firstly
that Trim n' Fit and more particularly, owner Johane Andrews
has provided me with an excellent ongoing personal training
program beginning the fall of 2009 and, secondly, that she
has guided me through a rehabilitation program taking into
account recent surgery.
I was progressing very well with my original program designed
to improve core strength and balance when in early June
of this year I suffered an inguinal hernia and had to drastically
cut back on all exercise and activities. I was fortunate
to be able to take advantage of a cancellation and had the
hernia repair surgery at the end of June. I was also told
to avoid lifting, pushing, pulling and vigorous exercise
for four to six month.
Johane designed a rehabilitation program that allowed me
to start in October with light exercise that would not stress
my abdomen but would allow me to work on my legs and upper
body conditioning using flexible bands and various exercise
machines. When this program proved to be working effectively
with no negative repercussions we began with light free
weights and have begun to increase the weights each week.
I began working with Johane to improve my balance and lower
body strength for skiing and, last year, had my best ski
season in more than a decade. In spite of my surgery I expect
the coming season to be even better. Incidentally, I will
be 65 next birthday
I have no hesitation in recommending Johane Andrews and
her Personal Training Studio both for improving overall
body fitness and also for customized individual rehabilitation
programs such as I have been fortunate to experience.
Sincerely,
Michael Tindall
Over the last decade I really stopped looking after myself
as life got busier and busier. Recently I was diagnosed
with Type 2 Diabetes along with other health issues related
to the substantial amount of weight Id gained. I had
all but given up and felt there was no hope of getting any
better. With the support of Johane and Heather I have made
progress I didnt think could be possible! Im
well on my way to achieving my goals of being healthy, lowering
my body fat to a healthy range, developing the stamina to
keep up with my kids and to regain the strength I need to
keep up with my demanding career and lifestyle.
Heather's experience, patience, and knowledge shine! She
has rekindled my passion for exercise through our 3x a week
sessions. Her personalized plan targets all the areas I
need help in: rehabilitation for an ankle injury, posture
alignment to ease chronic headaches and back pain, flexibility,
range of motion, and balance. Its the little things
I can do now that I couldnt before that truly measure
of how great I feel. I can shoulder-check when driving without
feeling dizzy, I can lift the laundry and vacuum the house
with way less pain, and get on the floor and play with my
kids. I can run, bike, and play with my kids.
Johanes weight loss challenge and one-to-one nutrition
sessions provide me with the support, tools, and information
I need to make positive changes in my food habits. She makes
eating healthy enjoyable and stress free. The knowledge
she shared with me covers everything from how to shop and
cook, how to manage cravings, how to fit healthy eating
into my busy lifestyle, how to enjoy the not-so-healthy
choices once in a while and balance those choices with eating
healthy the majority of the time. She is working with me
to improve my skills in menu planning, using a variety of
foods, and creating healthy meals my whole family enjoys.
Simple changes in my diet have me feeling more energized,
stabilized my blood sugar levels, and taught me how to avoid
the mid-afternoon slumps. Not only does Johane teach me
what food I should eat, she teaches me how to fit those
foods into my lifestyle.
Recently, being so impressed with the changes to my health
and energy levels, I just had to share this with my husband!
I bought him a just-because little present so
he could have some time just for himself a break
from his constant work and kids schedule. I knew he liked
having the scheduled break and personalized
workouts when he asked how many sessions did you get
me? Do I have more? He meets with Heather twice a
week and really looks forward to his workouts. He notices
how much more effective workouts with a personal trainer
are compared to when he did them on his own. Faster strength
increases, more energy, a more balanced approach to managing
the demands of work and family, and has even gone down a
clothing size in just a short time. Just yesterday, while
discussing our endless busy schedule, he told me he finds
these workouts are the key to having the ability to pull
through our busy lives.
In just two months Ive lost 18lbs, am sleeping better,
feeling more energized, better able to manage stress and
my family is happier for it all! Johane and Heather are
a team that really takes the time to fully understand their
clients. They know what I need, what I want, and what challenges
I face. They provide the means and the support to make lasting
changes we all feel good about. Thank you from my whole
family!

My personal trainer, Johane Andrews, is the reason why
I show up at the gym each week to continue working on my
fitness and weight loss goals. Personality and style of
training are of great importance, especially if one is to
stay motivated. Johane has provided me with an abundance
of motivation through her efforts in pushing me past my
comfort level by challenging me to do "just one, two,
or even three more" and increasing the difficulty of
the exercises such as in the case of push ups. I thought
push ups on the toes were hard until one day Johane introduced
me to push ups on the toes with hands set into pulleys off
the ground. This kind of push up was no longer an introduction
but an expectation for the remainder of the training cycle
set out by Johane. I can not experience boredom with Johane,
since her philosophy is to change the training routines
every two weeks. I really enjoy that variety and it definitely
keeps my interests and motivation heightened. Johane is
a very easy person to get along with and she always greets
you with a smile. However, what I desire most out of a trainer
is a tough attitude approach. One who will not enable whining,
moodiness, and self pity to sabotage the maximum efforts
that can be put forth in each session. Johane emits this
kind of approach through verbal and nonverbal cues. For
example, one day I had made a comment about the increase
in weight of a particular exercise that I had just noticed
her do, ever so non chalantly, and her response was "do
you have a problem with that?", in a non abrasive manner
of course and without compromising safety too. My response
was similar to that of "no maam" and I continued
on. I know that she is focussed only on me during each session
and I get the feeling that she is not just there to put
her time in and then go. The non-threatening and non-judgemental
environment that she creates enables you to feel comfortable
in expressing any concerns, comments and questions. Johane
is sincere and genuine in her comments and because she does
not wear out the phrase "good job", I know that
when she says it she really means it. This does not go without
saying that she consistently provides encouragement and
positive reinforcement that is specific to what you are
doing and I find that of great value. During the workout
sessions, Johane provides immediate feedback on posture,
form, speed, and motion, thus reflecting her knowledge about
weight training and safety. Johane's dedication to changing
the lives of her clients is evident. She holds you accountable
by tracking progress and asking how things are going. Clients
are free to contact her anytime if additional support is
needed. She has a thirst for more knowledge and she continously
seeks out research on nutrition and exercise and readily
shares it with her clients. What I like about her is that
she does not pretend to know everything. She will admit
when she does not have the answer and she will consult necessary
resources to answer back. Johane is a trustworthy individual
and you know that whatever information you confide in her
stays private. Johane is a mentor and a very good example
of someone who will always continue to be on a quest to
improved health and fitness for herself as well as her clients.
Johane does not just talk the talk, she walks the walk.
I am very lucky to be enjoying my experience of working
with a qualified personal trainer such as Johane Andrews.
I am thankful for the good rapport established between us
and the mentorship and inspiration that she provides for
me.

I came to Johane Andrews after suffering injuries from an
automotive vehicle accident. Being involved in two accidents
before I knew previous healing methods failed. After a short
discussion with Johane, she quickly inspired me that this
was the right course of action. Training with Johane I soon
realized several things. Johane did not open a studio to
become a successful business owner. She lives her modo,
and her goal is too simply to make people healthier, happier
and stronger! Johanes constant attention to proper poster
and lifting techniques has greatly impacted my life inside
and outside the studio. I apply it to every aspect of my
day. Her incredible ability to watch body language, gives
me great confidence in increasing weight amounts. Knowing
she is there watching for that exact moment when my technique
is starting to fail. In a few short weeks with Johanes help
I was well on my way to recovery and am now fully recovered.
Johanes personality is what really sells her, she works
in a firm but friendly manor that makes one want to achieve
higher limits. Johane has increased my self esteem, made
me a healthier, happier and stronger person. I have and
will continue to recommend her to anyone.

I have known Johane for many years. She started as my teacher
on the N.W.F.R (North Westside Fire Rescue department) and
grew into my mentor as my personal trainer. Through our
training together she then encouraged me to follow my dream
of becoming a personal trainer myself.
Johane has a strong background in teaching and tremendous
knowledge of the human body. Her understanding of the human
body stems from her many years of receiving personal training
and is strengthened through her educational training of
becoming a personal trainer herself. She had been my personal
trainer for almost two years now and has educated me with
a wealth of knowledge about the body. She is very pleasant
and positive to be around and I enjoy every session we have
together even if it means I have to work hard that`s what
makes the experience so wonderful.
Johanes goal is to empower others through education
and hands on training in nutrition and personal training.
Johane is professional, extremely competent, and has an
excellent rapport with people of all backgrounds. Her communication
skills, both written and verbal, are excellent. Johane has
great ideas and a strong vision for her exclusive personal
training studio Trim n Fit. I have been working at Trim
n Fit since it opened and love the atmosphere it is a safe
place for anyone to workout at and really gives you that
one on one experience so many other gyms lack. It is Johanes
entrepreneurial nature and strong leadership that makes
Trim n Fit so great.
