Over the last decade I really stopped looking after myself as life got busier and busier. Recently I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes along with other health issues related to the substantial amount of weight I’d gained. I had all but given up and felt there was no hope of getting any better. With the support of Johane and Heather I have made progress I didn’t think could be possible! I’m well on my way to achieving my goals of being healthy, lowering my body fat to a healthy range, developing the stamina to keep up with my kids and to regain the strength I need to keep up with my demanding career and lifestyle.

Heather's experience, patience, and knowledge shine! She has rekindled my passion for exercise through our 3x a week sessions. Her personalized plan targets all the areas I need help in: rehabilitation for an ankle injury, posture alignment to ease chronic headaches and back pain, flexibility, range of motion, and balance. It’s the little things I can do now that I couldn’t before that truly measure of how great I feel. I can shoulder-check when driving without feeling dizzy, I can lift the laundry and vacuum the house with way less pain, and get on the floor and play with my kids. I can run, bike, and play with my kids.

Johane’s weight loss challenge and one-to-one nutrition sessions provide me with the support, tools, and information I need to make positive changes in my food habits. She makes eating healthy enjoyable and stress free. The knowledge she shared with me covers everything from how to shop and cook, how to manage cravings, how to fit healthy eating into my busy lifestyle, how to enjoy the not-so-healthy choices once in a while and balance those choices with eating healthy the majority of the time. She is working with me to improve my skills in menu planning, using a variety of foods, and creating healthy meals my whole family enjoys. Simple changes in my diet have me feeling more energized, stabilized my blood sugar levels, and taught me how to avoid the mid-afternoon slumps. Not only does Johane teach me what food I should eat, she teaches me how to fit those foods into my lifestyle.

Recently, being so impressed with the changes to my health and energy levels, I just had to share this with my husband! I bought him a just-because “little present” so he could have some time just for himself – a break from his constant work and kids schedule. I knew he liked having the scheduled “break” and personalized workouts when he asked “how many sessions did you get me? Do I have more?” He meets with Heather twice a week and really looks forward to his workouts. He notices how much more effective workouts with a personal trainer are compared to when he did them on his own. Faster strength increases, more energy, a more balanced approach to managing the demands of work and family, and has even gone down a clothing size in just a short time. Just yesterday, while discussing our endless busy schedule, he told me he finds these workouts are the key to having the ability to pull through our busy lives.

In just two months I’ve lost 18lbs, am sleeping better, feeling more energized, better able to manage stress and my family is happier for it all! Johane and Heather are a team that really takes the time to fully understand their clients. They know what I need, what I want, and what challenges I face. "Heather was my personal trainer both when I was young, active and fit and again later after I had children and had become inactive and no longer fit. At each stage of my life she was able to accurately assess my level of fitness, my capabilities and my limitations. She was always able to design workouts that challenged me and motivated me to do my best and yet always ensure that I was working within my own personal limitations and was exercising in a safe and healthy and productive manner. She never let me overdo my workouts to the extent that I would be exhausted and discouraged. But she challenged me to do my best and always made sure that I had fun in the process. Having fun working out is in her nature. She doesn't have to try hard; she just makes working out fun. With Heather as my trainer I became stronger and more fit than at any other time in my life and I had the most fun getting there and staying there."

"I met Heather 11 years ago, when she was my instructor in a weight lifting class, and then hired her as my personal trainer. She impressed me as someone who really knew her stuff. Heather knows how the human body works, and how muscles and systems react to exercise. She always inspired me to work hard at staying fit, and helped me to understand that working out kept a lot of other health-related problems at bay.
More than anyone else, Heather helped me through a painful work-related back injury. Through stretching and the right kind of exercises, she helped me get past the injury and back to a normal life. Now that Heather has moved to Kelowna, I've been working out on my own, but I can often hear her urging me to lift the widgets with the proper form, and encouraging me to do more. "I always considered myself to be quite active and fit as these were requirements in my job. However, when I chose early retirement, I ran into a couple of medical problems involving extensive surgeries. As a result, my body became weak and I was generally tired. That's when Heather entered my life and she said, " I can help you get back some of that muscle tone and improve your health."
I agreed and started to work out twice a week. Heather developed a fitness training program designed to suit my needs and paid particular attention to form and exercises required to strengthen my weak areas.
